A ledger is only worth keeping if its keeper can read it. Here is what Suzuri supports today, plainly — and where it still falls short.
What Suzuri supports
The whole ledger, spoken
Every control carries a label, and the grid speaks its state — "Day 4, kept," "Day 12, slipped," "Day 19, current." Marks, slips, undo, the record, and settings all work by VoiceOver alone.
Marks by voice
Suzuri's controls answer to "Show names" and "Show numbers," and "lay a mark" works through Siri and Shortcuts without opening the app at all.
Ink is identity, never information
A design rule, not a retrofit: a filled square is solid, today's square is ringed, a slip is struck through, a finished sheet wears its seal. Color never carries meaning on its own — the ledger reads the same in grayscale.
A dark room for the desk
Suzuri follows your system appearance, or holds to light or dark at your choice — sumi ink on charcoal paper, no bright flashes.
Stillness on request
With Reduce Motion on, the breathing of today's square and the press of the seal go still. Nothing in Suzuri spins, parallaxes, or moves on its own.
Where it falls short, for now
Suzuri's type is set at fixed sizes, like print — it does not yet follow the system text-size setting. And some of the quiet captions are deliberately faint, though nothing essential is ever written faintly. Both are on the workbench.
